Book description
Each year, people of the Bhil tribe from Madhya Pradesh in central India, celebrate a wonderful carnival. It’s called Bhagoria— which in their language means ‘run!’ When boys and girls meet at this happy fair, say the Bhils, they fall in love and run away together. That’s how the carnival gets its name.
In this poster book, young Bhil artist Subhash Amiliyar has painted the Bhagoria carnival, in his traditional style. Vibrant and joyous, the roots of Bhil art go back to the very origins of human expression, in which all living
things share the same space.
