Book description
Children's love for parallel worlds, their burning curiosity for stories, their taste for collecting and keeping treasures, the pleasure they take in trading, in making things with their own hands, the single-mindedness they have in developing their own ideas: these are all qualities that have a lot in common with what goes into making illustrated books. This book would like to accompany the reader in a sensitive journey towards the creation of a book. A kind of adventure in which magic and the everyday, imagination and skill, discipline and letting oneself go will come together in harmony, so that a real book takes shape.
The book can be read by children or adults. The reader will begin the journey by gathering materials, and will then proceed to writing, to organising the work, to doing the illustrations, to making the book, ending with a peek into my workshops.
For me, writing illustrated books for children is enjoyable, but making illustrated books together with them is, I think, a delightful privilege.
